For 2021, Tour de Wines will be pairing the best wines with some of the best races in professional cycling. Whether it’s a spicy Northern Rhone or a dry Albariño, we will be pairing wines from the Grand Tours to the cobbled Classics. May your wines never peak and your rubber always stay down.

2021 Il Lombardia. Best paired with Sant Evasio Moscato d'Asti. For us, Il Lombardia will always be the end of the cycling season. As the leaves begin to fall, let's open a nice spumante from Northern Italy that leaves us with notes of peach, sage, and lemon.

2021 Paris-Roubaix. Best paired with Caparsa “Rosato di Caparsa." After a very long wait for Paris-Roubaix to resume, we witnessed a stunning, albeit wet, performance. We would not be surprised if this chillable red wasn't Colbrelli's Roubaix shower wine du jour.

2021 UCI Men's World Road Race. Best paired with Francois Servin Chablis Montee de Tonnerre Premier Cru. While some might call us sacrosanct, there is almost nothing more romantic than Worlds in Flanders, eating frites, and drinking Chablis. Perfect balance, perfect bergs.

2021 Vuelta a España: Week 3. Best paired with Ameztoi Stimatum Tinto. This year's Vuelta was maybe the best GT of 2021, and this wine from the Basque coast of Txakoli de Getaria is everything we love about the Vuelta. Powerful, complex, and beautiful.

2021 Vuelta a España: Week 2. Best paired with CVNE “Monopole Clásico” Blanco. With temperatures still soaring, it feels almost unheard of to drink anything but a white wine. If you want to watch Rog with a nice Rioja, this is the wine for you.

2021 Vuelta a España: Week 1. Best paired with Camino de Cabras Albariño. This Vuelta we have been wearing out the needle listening to Sketches of Spain and watching some dazzling late season performances. Hints of ripe stone fruits, this white from Rías Baixas is placid and cool.

2021 Tour de France: Week 3. Best paired with Domaine Joseph Roty Marsannay Rouge. Call us traditionalists, but sometimes you need to end Le Tour with a 100% Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits. May all of Pogačar's wins have hints of dark fruits and floral notes.

2021 Tour de France: Week 2. Best paired with Domaine du Colombier Chablis. As the second week of the Tour continues to be a dramatic affair, we are steading our nerves with a crisp glass of Chardonnay. Cavendish with his green jersey calls for notes of yellow and green apple.

2021 Tour de France: Week 1. Best paired with Michele D'Aprix Maz Caz Rouge. For a Tour that has been crazy, to say the least, bring us that "crazy in a good way" wine. Cav. Rog. Bretagne. History. Bike grease. The beau monde. A Grenache Syrah blend from the Côtes du Rhône.

2021 Critérium du Dauphiné. Best paired with Domaine Moutard "Pét Mout". There are few things more restorative than a bottle of pét-nat and jambon-beurre. With Porte and INEOS flying so far this season, we are ready for Le Tour.

2021 Giro d’Italia: Week 3. Best paired with Agriverde Natum Pecorino. Give us Bernal in pink. Give us amazing breakaway winners. Give us the beauty of Italy. The drama of the La Corsa Rosa. And give us counting all the spires with a glass of Pecorino in Milano.

2021 Giro d’Italia: Week 2. Best paired with Krasno Goriska Brda Orange. With the Giro venturing into Slovenia, the second week almost requires orange wine. When it comes to the high mountains of Italy, we could all do with a little distinct minerality, citrus, and thyme.

StradeBianche2018 (23).png

2021 Giro d’Italia: Week 1. Best paired with Le Calle di Catocci "Poggio d'Oro" Montecucco Riserva. The first week of the Giro has felt like all the agony and ecstasy of cycling. If the riders are all Michelangelo Buonarroti, this wine is their Sistine Chapel.

2021 Liège–Bastogne–Liège. Best paired with Monje 'La Hollera' Carbonica. We know the real reason all the pros train in Tenerife is to drink this incredible expression of Listán Negro. After a week in the Ardennes, there's nothing better than racy acids and hints of allspice.

StradeBianche2018 (21).png

2021 Flèche Wallonne. Best paired with Giamello Langhe Nebbiolo. While the Mur de Huy often makes Flèche Wallonne a predictable race, there is nothing predictable about this wine. If your legs are tired after a harrowing climb, cherries, roses, and a touch of tar heals all.

StradeBianche2018 (20).png

2021 Amstel Gold. Best paired with Do Ferreiro Cepas Vellas Albariño. A year without Amstel Gold always feels like a lost year, and WvA's win certainly made up for lost time. Endless laps up the Cauberg and Bemelerberg almost demand notes of the sea, wind, and golden apples.

2021 Tour of Flanders. Best paired with Otto's Constant Dream. The start of the 2021 season has been almost a constant dream for the Kasper Asgreen and Deceuninck–Quick-Step. Signature win for Asgreen is best paired with an orange wine from New Zealand.

StradeBianche2018 (18).png

2021 Gent-Wevelgem. Best paired with Ameztoi Blanco Txakolina. Gent-Wevelgem is always a cagey affair, and this year's edition requires a wine with strong notes of salty and briny notes. A Wout van Aert win paired with refreshing spritz is sometimes all we want out of a race.

StradeBianche2018 (17).png

2021 Milan-San Remo. Best paired with Gaja Dagromis Barolo. For anyone dedicated enough to watch the entire Milan-San Remo, a wine that takes 7 hours to breathe is a must. As the saying goes, watching MSR requires: espresso in the morning, followed by wine, and ending with Amaro.

2021 Paris-Nice. Best paired with Commanderie de Peyrassol Côtes de Provence Rosé. The roads from Paris to Nice never fail to amaze with their stunning beauty. If crestfallen to see Roglič lose on the final stage, a gentle medley of rose, gooseberry, and raspberry will cure all.

2021 Tirreno–Adriatico. Best paired with Division 'Nightshade' Nebbiolo. Like MvdP putting in leg-sapping attacks or Pogačar looking ready to defend maillot jaune, this wine brings a fresh take to the heralded Nebbiolo grape. Fresh, brilliant, and perfectly drinkable.

2021 Strade Bianche. Best paired with Caparsa Chianti Classico. As the Monument debate rages on, what can't be argued with is Mathieu van der Poel's attack on the final climb to the Piazza del Campo. After witnessing watts like that, hints of Black cherry and plum are required.

2021 Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. Best paired with Immich-Batterieberg Jour Fixe Riesling Brut Nature. Opening Weekend feels like cycling has returned and spring is nearly here. Give us spontaneous fermentation and a Deceuninck-QuickStep win to feel that all is right with the world.

2021 Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne. Best paired with Domaine Breyton Cuvée Charles Crozes Hermitage. If there is any wine that would make Trek-Segafredo's Mads Pedersen put down the Leffe it is this wine. Dark cherry. Dark plums. Dark cocoa. Pure clas
